SILENTVAR REACTIVE POWER COMPENSATOR — MODELS M / L

AUTOMATIC COMPENSATION. QUIET OPERATION. LOWER COSTS.

Product description

SILENTVAR M / L is an advanced automatic reactive power compensation system developed by COREVOLT for control cabinets, lighting installations and facilities requiring precise reactive power regulation.

Models M and L combine the controller and the main reactor in a single enclosure. This integrated design simplifies installation, makes efficient use of cabinet space and reduces the number of separately installed components.

The device automatically adjusts the compensation output to changing installation conditions, reducing billable reactive energy and the associated charges. A correctly selected and configured system can reduce these charges to zero, depending on the load characteristics, installation parameters and electricity billing arrangements.

Quiet operation, compact dimensions and wireless parameter measurement make SILENTVAR suitable for both new installations and upgrades to existing infrastructure.

Wireless measurement. Greater installation flexibility.

SILENTVAR supports wireless measurement of electrical parameters, reducing the need for additional measurement wiring. This provides greater flexibility when choosing the compensator’s installation location within the available space and existing technical constraints.

The solution is particularly useful where modifying the installation is difficult, costly or undesirable, including heritage buildings.

The system also supports wired measurement using a conventional current transformer or a split-core current transformer with a 5 A secondary output.

Silence is part of the technology

SILENTVAR operates without fans or the characteristic sounds of compensation step switching.

Quiet operation is particularly valuable in urban infrastructure, commercial facilities, offices and other locations where noise from technical equipment is undesirable

One enclosure. Two sizes. Up to 43 regulation steps.

In models M and L, the controller and main reactor are integrated into a single enclosure. Two device sizes are available:

  • Model M: 190 × 190 × 160 mm.
  • Model L: 190 × 260 × 160 mm.

The integrated design simplifies installation in control and lighting cabinets. Vertical or horizontal installation and DIN rail mounting make it easier to position the device within the available space.

In selected configurations, the system works with additional external reactors to extend the available compensation output and number of regulation steps.

Automatic. Precise. Without ongoing user intervention.

SILENTVAR monitors installation parameters and continuously adjusts the compensation level as the load changes.

The system includes:

  • automatic reactive power compensation,
  • SMART operating mode,
  • reactor self-calibration,
  • single-step compensation tuning,
  • adjustment of the tan φ factor,
  • time hysteresis between regulation step changes,
  • overcurrent protection,
  • automatic thermal protection,
  • reactor temperature and compensation status alarms.

During normal operation, the device requires no ongoing user intervention.

Ready for integration

SILENTVAR supports remote parameter reading, setting changes and integration with external automation and monitoring systems.

Available communication options include:

  • Wi-Fi,
  • Ethernet,
  • Modbus,
  • REST API.

A built-in display provides local access to network and compensation parameters.

The device can work with the ASTgsm LTE control and monitoring system from AST System, enabling reactive power compensation to be integrated with lighting infrastructure monitoring.
