ASTmidi GPS incorporates all the capabilities of the AST controller family while offering additional functions that enhance configuration flexibility and operational efficiency.
The controller is available with 2 or 3 independent relay outputs (the third output is optional), includes a photocell/cascade input, and features integrated Bluetooth communication for wireless configuration using a mobile application.
The controller automatically:
- synchronizes its internal clock with GPS satellites,
- determines the installation location,
- calculates astronomical sunrise and sunset switching times,
- automatically adjusts for daylight saving time,
- eliminates manual configuration of location and time.

Internal or External GPS Antenna
ASTmidi GPS is available in two hardware versions:
- Internal GPS antenna – suitable for most standard outdoor lighting cabinets.
- External GPS antenna – recommended for installations inside buildings, electrical rooms, metal enclosures, or any location where GPS reception may be limited.
A high-sensitivity 72-channel GPS receiver provides fast satellite acquisition and reliable time synchronization, ensuring accurate operation under challenging installation conditions.
ASTmobile – Wireless Configuration and Management
ASTmidi GPS is fully compatible with the free ASTmobile Android application.
The integrated Bluetooth interface enables complete wireless configuration without opening the control cabinet or using programming cables.
Using ASTmobile, users can:
- monitor the controller status,
- modify operating parameters,
- display the installation location on a map,
- synchronize controller settings,
- save and restore configurations,
- review the event history,
- manually activate relay outputs for maintenance,
- update the controller firmware wirelessly.
