Device Description

ASTlux is a next-generation digital photocell equipped with a high-precision digital ambient light sensor. The device provides accurate illuminance measurements within a range of 1 lx to 20,000 lx.

ASTlux can control a group of controllers, ensuring their simultaneous switching ON and OFF based on the measured ambient light level. By centralizing light measurement, only a single photocell sensing window requires periodic cleaning, eliminating the need to maintain individual photocells installed in each lighting cabinet. This solution simplifies system maintenance while improving operational reliability.

System Features

ASTlux is equipped with a digital communication interface that enables direct integration with ASTgsm and ASTgsm LTE controllers.

The device provides an open API, allowing seamless integration with any control system equipped with a 3.3 V RS-232 communication interface.

Operating Principle

  1. Connect the ASTlux photocell to a controller, for example an ASTgsm LTE.
  2. Log in to the www.astonline.pl management portal.
  3. Create a controller group that will be controlled according to the photocell measurements.
  4. Open the ASTlux configuration panel.
  5. Configure the illuminance thresholds for switching the lighting ON at dusk and OFF at dawn.

Once the configuration has been saved, all controllers assigned to the selected group will automatically switch ON and OFF according to the illuminance values measured by the ASTlux photocell. This ensures synchronized operation of the entire controller group while eliminating differences caused by local lighting conditions.
